Stampin' Buds Blog Hop for December 2015

Hi and welcome to my blog, I'm Janice Wilson and One Scraptastic Grandma is the name of my blog.  My eldest Grandson named it for me.  If you are following the Stampin' Bud's Blog Hop, you came from Leesa Bartu's Blog.  I hope you enjoyed her beautiful artwork.

Not sure what a blog hop is?
Well let me explain it.
A group of people get together and decide what they want to share, a certain Paper pack. stamp set, scrapbook layout, cards or anything really.  Then all the people participating create their own blog post and share what they made and then provide the visitors a link to go to the next blog in the list, they hop from one blog to the other so to speak.  They sometimes provide a list of participating blogs so if you get lost you can go back and start over.  You get to see how they all use the same Paper, stamps ect. in different ways. Giving you inspiration to create your own projects.

On my blog, One Scraptastic Grandma, I try to share some type of paper craft with you as often as possible.  I have other hobbies that sometimes takes more of my time, but are well worth it.  I volunteer at my local VFW and I'm an Auxiliary Life member. I help make lap Quilts and neck pillows and we take them to the Portland VA Hospital. I'll have a post on that latter this month.  Right now we are getting ready to take a load on Wednesday for their Christmas party on the 16th.  They are always looking for volunteers, so if you have some spare time and want to volunteer, call the Portland VA Hospital and ask for Jean Bettencourt in Volunteer Services, she will be able to tell you all about how you can help.  Or contact your local VFW Auxiliary and ask if you can help them. I know we welcome all the help we can get at the Three Rivers VFW Post 1324 in Oregon City.

Back to the Blog Hop!

For this Blog Hop, I have chosen to use Kaleidoscope paper pack to create my projects.  I have not added pictures yet, but I have the perfect ones in mind.

Kaleidoscope X7202B  $9.95

SureCut™ Deluxe Craft Paper Trimmer     $34.95

Non-stick Micro-tip Scissors  $13.95

Duck® Easy Stick™ Adhesive $18.95

4 – disposable permanent adhesive runners, 7 yards/6.5m each.

Here is a stamp set that goes perfectly with this paper pack.

Diamonds Are Forever C1629 $13.95

I am also working on a mini album using this kit so stop back by or follow this blog to see what it turns out like.

I will also be giving away some blog candy to one lucky person on December 15th.  To be elligible you must leave a comment on my blog regarding my artwork and then go leave a comment on each of the blogs in the hop. The participating blogs with links are listed below.  I will announce the winner here on my blog and on my Facebook page.

This is what I have so far for the Blog Candy,  Zoe paper pack and a roll of CTMH Silver Shimmer Trim.
$9.95 Silver Shimmer Trim$4.95

7 signs of gluten intolerance

7 Signs Of Gluten Intolerance, Everyone Ignores!

It’s been said that the vast majority of people who have a gluten intolerance will never be diagnosed and that as much as 15% of Americans have some type of gluten sensitivity or intolerance, if not celiac disease. Are you one of them? Here are the 7 subtle signs to look for:
1. Keratosis Pilaris
  • Otherwise known as “chicken skin” that’s commonly found on the backs of arms and your thighs is the result of fatty acid deficiency caused by gluten damaging the gut.
2. Persistent Headaches
  • Migraines and persistent headaches is another potential sign of gluten intolerance. They can also be signs of dehydration and other disorders. See a physician if your headaches don’t stop.
3. Autoimmune Diseases
  • Certainly not in all cases, but in some cases, Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, rheumatoid arthritis, ulcerative colitis, Lupus, Scleroderma, Multiple Sclerosis, and Psoriasis have been found to be rooted in gluten intolerance.
4. Routine Digestive Issues
  • Gas, diarrhea, bloating, and constipation that persists seemingly without cause is one of the most obvious signs. Constipation is a common sign of gluten intolerance in children.
5. Dizziness
  • Dizziness and feeling off balance is yet another sign of gluten intolerance.
6. Chronic Fatigue
  • Chronic fatigue can be caused by something as easy to fix as dehydration and as severe as HIV. If you have chronic fatigue, see a doctor about it. Fatigue, brain fog, and feeling tired especially after meals that contain gluten are another clear indicator.
7. Fibromyalgia
  • Some people diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue actually have gluten intolerance but don’t realize it. If you’ve been diagnosed, consider gluten as the potential cause.
Going Gluten free has certailnly changed my life.  No pain, no pain meds, I sleep, no brain fog, and my arms don't look like that anymore. I'm now able to walk a 5k.  It has been an amazing transformation.  You really should try going gluten free. I went on a Comprehensive Elimination Diet Nov. 4th 2010 and was pain free after a week and a half.  I didn't add food back to my diet for 2 1/2 years, because I was afraid of the pain coming back. When I finally added the foods back one at a time, I found that I have several food allergies.  All grains, all nuts.  Sugar has a huge impact and so does dairy.  I eat mostly Fruits and vegies, organic chicken and wild caught Salmon.  I make my own seasoning mixes or I use Wildtree Seasonings,

Here are a couple of links to the comprehensive elimination diets.  I did the top one, but the other has different recipes plus meal plans for the week.
