The Crop 4 Vets was a success again this time.....

I hope you will join is in February when we hold our next Crop 4 Vets.

We have so much fun...

Our theme was Trolls if you couldn't tell.
We had a few people who left and others came so we took lots of pics
to make sure we got everyone.

I owe a huge THANK YOU to Xyron, Art Impressions, Canvas Corp. Brands, Avery Elle, and Quick Quotes Scrapbook Company for the great donations they sent for our Crop 4 Vets. I also owe a huge THANK YOU to all the great ladies who came to the crop and to the volunteers who helped make it possible. Without all of you, I could not do what I love to do.  THANK YOU all again.

I don't have the numbers in front of me, but I know we brought in over $300.00 for our Veterans.

I am already making plans for February!  Hope to see you there.

Physical Cartridge Cricut® Collections to Retire.....

Yes, Provo Craft announced that the Physical Cartridge Cricut® Collections will Retire!

This was in an email from Close To My Heart to all of their consultants on Thursday September 28, 2017.

Provo Craft has recently made the decision to discontinue production of physical Cricut® cartridges. We have been able to secure enough inventory of the You Are Here collection to last us through the duration of our Annual Inspirations 2017–2018 idea book, but effective immediately, all Cricut® Collections that include a physical cartridge are available while supplies last.

Though we have made every effort to preserve this product offering for as long as possible, we have known that eventually physical cartridges would be phased out in favor of the digital business model, and have been taking steps to make the transition easier. We introduced digital-only collections as a way to encourage our customer base to make the switch; we have also introduced a Cricut® Explore Air 2 hostess bundle as an incentive for Consultants and customers alike to upgrade their Cricut® machines. Recently, we even started to include image numbers in our artwork recipes to make it easier to locate images in Design Space.

Tutorial videos are in the works that will help our Consultants and customers learn more about how to use Design Space and the newer Cricut® machines. We understand it can be challenging to learn a new system, but we also recognize the benefits that come from using the newer machines, including greater control over the creative process and increased flexibility in working Cricut® shapes into your artwork. Though we are sorry to see our physical cartridges go, we are excited about the possibilities available with our digital collections.

So if you do not have the You Are Here Cricut Collection from Close To My Heart now would be a great time to get it to make sure they don't run out.  Other wise you will have to purchase the digital collection.  Here is a link to my website to purchase your cartridge if you would like one.

Here is a link to the digital Handbook so you can see all the images and layers.  700 images.

From The Heart Card | DT Project by Tarina Lafollette

Hello All!
Have you gotten to play with the From the Heart, (Sept. Constant Campaign) stampset by Close to My Heart yet?
I'm using it today, along with the Sapphire cardstock. I've been drawn to it a lot lately, so I decided to use it for my base color with gold as my accent color.

I started prepping the card base by covering it in the Sapphire cardstock. Then, I went onto Silhouette Studio and designed the scalloped rectangle with the faux stitching. I cut it and the scalloped oval from Sapphire CS as well. Once I had the oval cut out, I stamp the 'Sending special thoughts & wishes to you' sentiment in the center using VersaMark ink and then heat embossing in gold.

For the scalloped rectangle, I cut an oval from copy paper that was just smaller that the scallops on the scalloped oval and used it as a mask. By placing it in the center of the rectangle die cut, it forms a sort of stamping guide for me and helps me stamp in an oval shape that is in a similar size to my sentiment oval. So I stamped flowers around the copy paper oval and heat embossed them in gold as well. Once I had all the embossing done, it was time to adhere all both pieces down. I decided I wanted a little depth to my card, and foam tape works perfect for that!
And that was it! A pretty simple card, with minimal supplies.

If you haven't gotten your hands on the From the Heart Cardmaking kit yet, be sure to put your order in soon because it's only available to order until the end of September! You can also purchase just the interactive cards/envelopes or just the stampset as well.

I hope you have a lovely day, and I'll see you soon with my next DT project!
